The Castellers de Barcelona is a castellers group founded in 1969 in Barcelona, being the first group created outside the traditional area and the fourth oldest in the entire casteller world. His first performance was on June 8, 1969, in El Vendrell and, since then, they have always weared a red shirt. The most important day for the Colla is celebrated on the Sunday closest to La Mercè (September 24), in Plaça Sant Jaume.
Throughout these years they have done hundreds of performances around Catalonia and abroad, making almost all the castells of the range of eight and the nine-story basic castles. The most important achievements for the group are the 9 of 8, 3 of 9 with double base, 4 of 9 with double base, 3 of 8 with pillar and the pillar of 7 with pillar.
